Applications for Zoning By-law Amendments and Official Plan Amendments Which Do Not Yet Have A Decision

How the Township Communicates to Residents About Amendment Applications

The public has a right to comment on proposed amendment applications to the Zoning By-law and Official Plan. We publicize them by:

  • Posting a large sign along the frontage of the lands
  • Publishing the notices on the Township's website
  • Hosting public meetings to discuss the proposed change
  • Sending letters to properties within 240m of the proposed change, which is above the requirement of the Planning Act.

How to Participate?

Submit Comments in Writing:

Should you wish to provide written comments on a planning application, please submit your comments via the following:

  • In person at the Township of Muskoka Lakes Municipal Office (1 Bailey Street, Port Carling, ON)
  • Email planning@muskokalakes.ca
  • Mail or courier to the Township of Muskoka Lakes 1 Bailey Street, P.O. Box 129, Port Carling, ON, P0B 1J0

Active Participation In-Person or on Zoom:

Hybrid meetings are held at 9:00 a.m. on the meeting date in Council Chambers at the Municipal Office. For more information about participating via Zoom, please view the Public Meeting Agenda for the zoom information.
