The Township of Muskoka Lakes recognizes the important role that community organizations, agencies, and volunteers play in supporting residents and strengthening the community.

Through the Municipal Grants Program Policy, the Township provides three funding streams to help support initiatives that deliver meaningful programs, services, projects, and initiatives that benefit Township residents, support community well-being, and align with the priorities outlined in the Township’s Strategic Plan.

This includes:

  1. Community Grants for one-time community projects and initiatives
  2. Operating Grants for organizations that extend or support municipal services
  3. Event Grants for recurring community events (coming in 2027)

The Community Grants

The Community Grants Program provides funding to eligible non-profit and community-based organizations for projects or initiatives that benefit the community and complement Township services.

Eligible applicants may apply for up to $2,500 for direct project-related expenses. Projects must be open to the public, non-political in nature, and take place in Muskoka Lakes or clearly benefit Township residents.


How to Apply

The 2026 intake period for the Community Grants Program is now open until April 6, 2026.

Applications can be submitted two ways:

  1. Online using the 2026 form below or
  2. In person at the Township Office (1 Bailey St., Port Carling, ON)

All funding is subject to approval by Township Council.

  • Before You Begin:

    6. Participants - Who is your target audience and how many clients or patrons do you expect to serve this year?
